We got played. The Corporations, Wall Street, and the billionaires are about to cash in on our tax dollars. The Supreme Court struck down the tariffs trump put in place. Mainstream media is spinning it as a win against the fascist, but really it’s a giant win for the capitalist.
Let’s look at the price of Kobe’s. Kobe’s are made overseas in Asia, you probably already know, but follow me here. Nike gets a hell of deal doing business over there. The price to make a pair of shoes is $20 and they sell it to us for $200.
Trump came in and said yeah we are going to take a cut of that money, give us $50. Nike has to keep the shareholders happy and losing $50 on every pair is going to piss BlackRock the fuck off. So the bum ass board at NIKE said “Yo what if we raise our shoe prices to $250 instead of $200 dollars? “. This is how the tariffs were working.
The results are in; niggas are still buying Kobe’s.
Now the government can’t take that cut of $50 bucks. NIKE will go back to paying $20 a pair, but niggas showed their hand they will pay $250 for them. So yeah, those prices aren’t coming back down.
We are talking about the price of Kobe’s and I am squabbling over $50 on something you might only be buying once a year. To that I say “ you right”. However, how many times did you buy beef last year or something that involved china in the making of it? All those things are about to do the same thing NIKE did; say “well niggas will pay this much for it”. These prices aren’t coming back down.
But wait, there’s more! Since the Supreme Court ruled that the tariffs are illegal and all the money made from them has to be refunded. Paying back the money collected by tariffs. The tariffs cost that were passed on to us the buyer. Ain’t that some shit!
But wait, there’s still more!!! The billionaires and their paid off politicians found another way to take more money away from us. They ran a scam off the tariffs and they are sabotaging the labor market.
They are cutting jobs and salaries in the tech sector. The safest job 5 years ago computer programming is having mass layoffs and entry levels job openings are scarce. All because they are betting on figuring out AI fast enough to not affect the bottom line and lower labor cost.
Black people are losing their jobs for absolutely no reason other than they are Black; unless they are also a woman.
The Anti-DEI movement came after women too. Women have been fired for being women. The return to “good ol days America” means taking agency away from women. All women have been affected, however, despite being the most educated demographic of humans in the country Black women have been affected the most.
Being Black and a woman is two strikes against you as a human according to Capitalism.
Kobe’s prices aren’t going down, We are not getting the money back that we are owed from tariffs, wages and employment are dropping.
